Hilda Polanco is managing director of Fiscal Management Associates, LLC (FMA), a subsidiary of ERE LLP in New York, N.Y. She provides practical, hands-on financial management and consulting services to organizations in the not-for-profit sector. Over the last 13 years, Ms. Polanco has built a specialized consulting practice focused on helping not-for-profit agencies create and maintain effective fiscal systems and policies, cost-efficient technology systems and a human resource infrastructure that supports their programmatic, fiscal and operating demands.

A recognized expert in this field, Ms. Polanco has conducted fiscal workshops and trainings for nonprofit organizations under the auspices of the Robin Hood Foundation, The After-School Corporation (TASC), the Tiger Foundation, and FITA (Fiscal Infrastructure Technical Assistance Initiative, a service division of Medical and Health Research Association of NYC, Inc.). She has been a featured speaker at the AICPA National Not-for-Profit Industry Conference, the New York State Society of CPAs Annual Nonprofit Conference and the Alliance for Nonprofit Management national conference

Ms. Polanco is an adjunct professor in Columbia University's Department of Health Policy and Management and has conducted fiscal workshops for the university's Institute for Not-for-Profit Management and New York State's Department of Health AIDS Institute. The Not-for-Profit Services Association chose her to be the New York instructor for its new certified nonprofit accounting professional (CNAP) program.

Ms. Polanco holds a Certification in Control Self-Assessment® (CCSA®), which is conferred by the Institute of Internal Auditors. CCSA® is awarded to practitioners who have proven their knowledge and ability to provide guidance on risk, controls and business objectives.

Ms. Polanco serves on the board of directors of the Alliance for Nonprofit Governance, is a board member of the Not-for-Profit Services Association and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, New York State Society of CPAs, National Association of Female Executives and Entrepreneurs of America. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from New York University.
