Amy Boland, CPA, has more than nine years' experience in auditing and public accounting. At Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman in Bethesda, Md., she specializes in auditing not-for-profit and nonprofit organizations including associations, private voluntary organizations and other charitable institutions.

Ms. Boland assists in the planning and budgeting of audits in accordance with the Yellow Book and OMB Circulars A-122 and A-133 and supervises audit staff on large engagements. She has performed audits on behalf of most federal agencies, most frequently for USAID grantees. Her responsibilities include interaction with client staff and management to ensure efficient completion of field work and report preparation.

Ms. Boland works with our international PVO team to assist clients with global activity in strengthening field office controls and establishing policies and procedures to ensure grant compliance. The firm's client field office activity covers more than 90 countries around the world.

Ms. Boland earned her bachelor's degree in accounting at Pennsylvania State University and continues to expand her knowledge in auditing and tax preparation through continuing professional education and hands-on work experience. She is a member of the AICPA and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is active in the nonprofit community.
