Joe Herman is the partner in charge of the audit and financial services at Humes & Barrington, P.C., in St. Louis, Mo., and leads their construction services group. Herman graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Herman's experience in the construction industry includes attest and consulting services with closely held contractors. Consulting services consist of analysis and enhancement of financial statements for bonding purposes, job cost analysis, establishing job performance measures, benchmarking company performance, multidivisional costing and overhead analysis, long-term strategic goal planning and internal control review and analysis. He assists construction company owners with development of specialized benefit programs and goal setting for key employees.
Herman has written articles for construction newsletters and has been a speaker at specialty trade association meetings. He has served as an expert witness in construction-related legal matters. Herman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Construction Financial Management Association and Associated General Contractors of St. Louis.
