2007 CPAmerica Board of Directors
CPAmerica's Council of Members, composed of representatives from each member firm, elects the Board of Directors each year. The board is made up of seven or more members, usually firm leading partners.
The board sets the direction of the association, appoints standing committees to fulfill objectives, and investigates and reports on prospective firms applying for membership.

CPAmerica's Lead Team
The executive office team at CPAmerica is made up of dedicated professionals who are led by CPAmerica's management group, the Lead Team. The Lead Team is responsible for directing the creation, development and implementation of all CPAmerica-approved services, programs and products.
Douglas H. Thompson, Jr.
President and CEO, CPAmerica International
CEO, CPA Mutual Insurance Co.
In 1982, Douglas H. Thompson, Jr., CPA, was named president and CEO of the accounting association that would become CPAmerica International. Under his leadership, CPAmerica has grown from a small group of CPA firms looking for direction to one of the largest networks of independent CPA firms in the world.
When Thompson took over the reins of the association in 1982, it included 17 CPA firms with gross firm revenues of $17 million. The network today, in alliance with Horwath International, includes more than 400 offices around the world with global firm revenues exceeding $2 billion.

Kathy McDonald
Executive Vice President
Executive vice president Kathy McDonald is responsible for planning and supervising daily operations at CPAmerica. She provides oversight for conferences, committees, training, member development, member services, review programs and all other CPAmerica programs and services. She also assists the president with entrepreneurial association matters.
Ms. McDonald holds a master's degree in communication and graduated with highest honors from Michigan State University. Prior to joining CPAmerica in 1986, she served as curriculum developer and instructor with the University of Illinois Police Training Institute and as director for victimless crime research with the State of Michigan Governor's Office. She also taught high school English, communication and debate.
Bill Thompson
Chief Financial Officer, CPAmerica
President, CPA Mutual Insurance Co.
Bill Thompson is the chief financial officer of CPAmerica and president of CPA Mutual Insurance Co. He supervises the accounting staff and the CPA Mutual office support staff.
A graduate of the University of Florida with a B.S. degree in accounting, Thompson has been a CPA since 1982. He holds a Series 7 securities license and is a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU). Thompson has been with CPAmerica/CPA Mutual since 1993. Previously, he was a manager level CPA for Bella Hermida Gillman & Co. before assuming the CFO position for a hotel/restaurant management company.
Judy Moore
Publications Director
As publications director, Judy Moore heads CPAmerica's creative team of editors and graphic designers who produce more than 50 national print and online newsletters each quarter. The department also has created nearly 60 client brochures, national advertising campaigns, seminars, online publications and a variety of directories, catalogs and other business publications for the members and clients of CPAmerica, CPAConnect and CPA Mutual.
Before joining CPAmerica in 1993, Ms. Moore worked for several years as a newspaper reporter and business editor, magazine feature writer, college journalism instructor and publications manager. She has won several regional and national awards for her writing. A former tennis professional, she was also a longtime tennis writer for newspapers and magazines. She holds a bachelor's degree in business from Florida State University and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Florida.
Suzanne M. Csik
Marketing Consultant
Suzanne Csik has been CPAmerica's full-time marketing consultant since 1994. Based in Montreal, Canada, she travels between CPAmerica's Florida headquarters and member firms around the country. She provides firms with strategic marketing consultations on a remote and on-site basis. A frequent writer and lecturer on marketing topics, she also gives marketing assistance to CPAConnect and Horwath International firms.
Ms. Csik is a graduate of Montreal's Concordia University, is bilingual and holds a B.A. degree in urban planning as well as a certificate in accounting. Prior to joining CPAmerica, she worked for a Montreal accounting firm, providing marketing direction to 30 partners. She later served for six years as director of marketing and public relations with Ernst & Young in Montreal.
Harrison Schofill
Director of Information Technology
Harrison Schofill manages the organization’s IT staff and is directing the organization’s transition to new technologies for both internal and member firm use, including a new extranet built on the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 platform.
Schofill graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in mathematical statistics and has a M.S. in computer information systems from the University of Phoenix. Schofill is a veteran of the U.S. Army and, following Sept. 11, 2001, was asked to continue providing his technological knowledge to the country.
He became program manager for General Dynamics, a government contractor providing communication technology to troops in Kuwait fighting the war on terror. He was also a systems integration consultant with Advanced Clinical Research Services in Atlanta.
Ernie Moyer
Director of Member Services
Ernie Moyer is responsible for the organization’s REACH program, which helps improve communication across the network and provide opportunities for member sharing. He also leads the affiliated CPAConnect program, which is a network of smaller CPA firms. CPAConnect has more than 215 member firms across the country.
Moyer has been involved in 15 technology start-up companies and has taken eight companies public through acquisition. He spent six years as vice president of commercial lending with Atlantic First National Bank of Gainesville. Prior to that, he was president of such companies as SysMed, a medical software company; environmental services and engineering firm Quadrex/HPS; and material science company Geltec.
Moyer holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Florida State University and attended Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking.
Dan Kreitz
Director of Web Services
As director of Web services, Dan Kreitz heads CPAmerica's talented
team of Web developers and programmers, who maintain seven
public Web sites and members-only extranet sites. The team
has designed and developed more than 50 Web sites for accounting
professionals and oversees more than 30
Kreitz joined CPAmerica in 1996 after graduating from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor's degree in advertising and public relations. Previously, he worked as a videographer, a director and the tech administrator for a video production company in Orlando, Fla.

Executive committees are appointed in a number of areas to help CPAmerica stay focused on the member-driven goals of the network and to ensure quality and appropriateness of all programs and materials.
