- E-mail overload? Try ‘no e-mail Fridays’
- The average American professional spends 40 percent of the day dealing with e-mail. Unless we can learn to conquer the glut of e-mail in our inbox, our productivity – and the productivity of those who work with us – will significantly decrease. And, our stress will continue to increase.

- Set your improvement goals now for 2008
- Have you, individually, and your firm as a team, adopted your goals for continued improvement and success in 2008? Do you have a vision of where you want to be one year from now? - May God bless us, everyone
- 'Tis the season to be jolly and write my holiday column as has been my tradition now for 20 years. - A fishing paradise in Southwest Florida
- If one believes that "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of experiences that take our breath away," my son Scott and I had a "take your breath away" experience on Father's Day weekend on Pine Island, 10 miles north of Fort Myers, Fla.

- There are no limits to what we can accomplish … if we share the same vision and passion
- I believe some things need to be seen to be believed. And some things need to be believed to be seen. What our minds can conceive, see and believe, we can achieve. We become what we think about and see. May I challenge all members and key stakeholders of CPAmerica to engage in some critical "CPAmerica vision thinking”with me?

- New roles of fathers in America
- Fathers of past generations were expected to work and provide the money while mothers stayed at home and took care of the children and the house. Those roles began to change and merge in the early to mid '50s. But, even up to the mid '60s, when I graduated from high school and attended college, girls primarily had three choices: stay at home, get a job and/or get married and start a family. And, most of the girls in my senior class of 1960 who went to college majored in teaching or nursing. My how times have changed! While most of the focus has been on the changes of women's roles in the workplace, the roles of men have also changed.
